Freelance Video Editing - FAQ
What software do you use to edit?
I edit in Adobe Premiere Pro, which is an industry standard. However, my work is usually done with a mix of Adobe Suite - Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, and Illustrator.
What do I need to get started?
Your raw/original/undedited footage and other files (images, logo, etc.) and clear instructions of what you want. Each project has different specifications, so please make sure to include everything I need to make your project shine!
What makes up a revision?
A revision includes changes you have requested. I offer two rounds without additional fees so that we can properly refine the video to your liking.
How do I get my files to you?
For most projects it is easy to share files via cloud storage. You only need to upload them to Box, Google Drive, or DropBox and send me a link to the files. If you are unsure of the best way to transfer files I am here to help! For projects with file transfers over 20GB it is recommended that you send a hard drive. Please specify if you will want the drive back immediately, in which case you won’t have the project files associated with the project once the job has been completed. Generally, I hang onto the drive while the project is ongoing and return it to you once complete.
Are you available on a long-term basis for ongoing projects?
I am! Developing a relationship that creators can depend on to deliver consistent results is key to honing your brand identity.
Help! My project needs music and I don’t know what to do!!
Never fear, I have a solution! Probably several. I have access to royalty free stock music to use in your videos. If you are looking for something more specifically curated I can perhaps point you in the right direction on that too.
Have you worked with cross-functional teams?
I have and I welcome it every time it's an option. I look to the team leader for direction and do my best to understand everyone's priorities. I am open to constructive feedback and am able to give constructive feedback so that the project moves forward in the most efficient manner. I am able to ask for resources when I need them and am always accountable for my work.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
I am an early riser and the early hours of the morning when all is quiet before anyone is stirring is my favorite time to think. I find that I come up with my best creative solutions during these quiet hours. Then I get to work!
